Award winning ceramic artist Fiona Tunnicliffe has been working as a full time potter for over 30 years and is a master at representing the essence of an animal’s character. Her beautiful pieces almost always use animal forms as a starting point. Each of Fiona's formed ceramic animals seem to exude their own unique personality. Come and learn her hand building techniques.
Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd August
Arrive 9.30am to start on time at 10am. Finish at 4pm plus clean up time
Suitable for all levels of learning.
NP Pottery MEMBERS ONLY workshop.
NO REFUNDS - you must find a replacement if you are unable to attend.
To give as many members as possible the chance to learn with Fiona, this workshop is open to those who have NOT previously attended one of her workshops.
Requirements:
Bring and share lunch each day

1 bag of clay suitable for sculpture - Fiona will be using Primo Pro W2502 – white stoneware with small grog, but you can bring any clay you wish.

tools for texturing, rollers, stamps (some available at club)

Brayer roller - these can be shared

Rolling pin - some available at club

banding wheel and bat – some available at club

hand building tools - some available at club

canvas for rolling clay on – there may be some at the club

hard pencil

flat bladed knife (like an old butter or dinner knife)

photos of animals you'd like to make - with clear details for head and feet & any other characteristics – Fiona would like people to make an original creation of their own design, so not copies/pictures of others work

towel, slip and bucket to take scraps away
