2026 Term 2 - Introduction to Wheel Throwing with Brianna (Thursday evenings) April 23rd - June 18th

The ‘Introduction to Wheel throwing’ course runs for 8 weeks & begins on:
Thursday 7pm - 9 pm at 288 Courtenay Street, New Plymouth.
Tuition covers all the basic techniques used in wheel throwing.
Wk 1: Understanding of clay, wedging, weighing & making balls
Wk 2: Centering/Dropping the well/forming walls
Wk 3: Pulling consistent cylinders
Wk 4: Making a mug
Wk 5: Trim mug/ make & attach a handle/make a bowl
Wk 6: Make & trim bowl
Wk 7: Trim bowl/finalise pieces

(1 week break to allow work to dry ready for ...) 
Wk 8: Glazing
Wk 9: Collect pieces
The class fee includes all clay, firing and glazing costs

Requirements:

Please wear covered footwear & bring a towel & bucket with lid.

A full class of six is required for the class to go ahead.

Cancellations:

• no refunds after April 20th
• otherwise please find someone else to take your place
